Pitt’s free speech ranking declines in new report

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) ranked Pitt 208th out of 251 schools for free speech in the 2025 report on speech climates, a drop from its previous ranking of 130th of 248 schools.

Wi-Fi issues cause disruptions in academic, personal life of students

For Daniel Marcinko, recent on-campus Wi-Fi outages have interfered with both his ability to access academic software and attend important personal meetings. Marcinko is one of many students who have been affected by recent Wi-Fi issues at Pitt, which have made accessing Wi-Fi servers in both academic and dormitory spaces difficult.

The Panther Pit raided and closed by law enforcement, marks third raid in past year

The Panther Pit Sports Bar and Grill, located on Meyran Ave., was raided by liquor enforcement officers and issued a closure on Tuesday morning. State Police said the location was operating without a liquor license, and the Allegheny County Health Department listed numerous health violations.
