In my autobiography writing course, Pitt going online means that I’m losing contact with half of my classmates -- the ones incarcerated at SCI Somerset.
Hillman Library remains open to students, faculty and staff. All University libraries will remain open, but may have reduced hours depending on usage.

Pitt moves classes online as coronavirus pandemic spreads around nation

Chancellor Patrick Gallagher announced Wednesday that Pitt will cancel classes next week and then move them online indefinitely beginning March 23, in the wake of the global SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic.
At Wednesday’s Faculty Assembly Meeting, Ted Fritz, the associate vice chancellor of public safety and emergency, announced the University is acting under “Response Level B: High Alert” because of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic and discussed potential actions if cases are reported in the area.
