White welcomes new year in women’s basketball rebuild

Leaves crunch underfoot, temperatures drop and basketballs hit the hardwood — November is finally here, meaning that Pitt women’s basketball will open their second season under head coach Lance White this month. White is charged with the tall task of rebuilding Pitt’s struggling women’s basketball program and has already gotten to work revamping the middling Panthers.
Pitt’s defense held Miami to only 80 yards rushing on the ground during Saturday’s 16-12 loss to the Hurricanes.

Panthers to fend off the Yellow Jackets

Pitt (5-3, 2-2 ACC) will look to do just that this week on the road against Georgia Tech (2-5, 1-3 ACC). The Panthers are fresh off a deflating 16-12 loss to Miami and need every win they can get to secure the Coastal division title once more. Meanwhile, despite a lost season, the Yellow Jackets will be well rested after a bye and looking to play spoiler again after upsetting Miami two weeks ago.
Kenny Pickett has topped the 200-yard mark in every game but one this season.

Panthers to survive the Homecoming Hurricane

After back-to-back games on the road, it is appropriate that Pitt football returns to the friendly confines of Heinz Field on Homecoming Weekend. The Pittsburgh Panthers (5-2, 2-1 ACC) will host the Miami Hurricanes (3-4, 1-3 ACC) for a noon kickoff in Pittsburgh.
