SGB’s LGBTQIA+ task force, which includes more than 70 students, faculty and staff, is working on a proposal that includes research on the benefits of an LGBTQIA+ center as well as recommendations for counseling services.
Student Government Board hosted a virtual community check-in with Kenyon Bonner, the vice provost and dean of students, and Dr. Joe Suyama, a member of the CMRO, to discuss and answer questions regarding the spring semester.

Pitt student vaccinations to begin next Thursday, official says

Pitt’s COVID-19 Medical Response Office presented a plan on Tuesday evening to begin vaccinations, with up to 800 shots for Pitt and “local” students set for next Thursday and Friday at the Petersen Events Center.
SGB president Eric Macadangdang addressed the most recent round of COVID-19 case numbers published by the University on Monday, showing 74 new confirmed cases over the weekend, at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Pitt police Chief James Loftus and Commander Eric Holmes, the chief of staff of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, participated in the event along with University administration and Pitt security subcontractor Allied Security. The Student Government Board, Student Affairs and the Black Senate organized the town hall.

SGB will post the resolution on its website this week for public comment and review and will vote on it at next Tuesday's meeting. Along with announcing the new resolution, SGB also discussed new COVID-19 updates, future meetings with Pitt police, constitutional revisions and upcoming SGB elections.
Eric Macadangdang, president of the Student Government Board, said SGB plays an active role in redirecting the “enforcement responsibility” for COVID-19 rules from police to other outlets.
