Panthers overpower Orange, win 10th game for first time in 40 years

After overcoming a slow start, No. 20 Pitt football beat Syracuse 31-14 and cleared the 10-win mark in a season for the first time since 1981. Kenny Pickett threw for four touchdowns — two to Jordan Addison — in the win, a last hurdle before Saturday’s ACC title game.

Pitt Volleyball sweeps weekend doubleheader

No. 3 Pitt volleyball continued its recent string of dominance against ACC foes, sweeping both Syracuse and Boston College over the weekend. Since their second loss of the season on Oct. 24, the Panthers have yet to drop a set in four matches.
Pitt women’s basketball qualified as the No. 15 seed of 15 teams in the ACC Tournament. The Panthers play their first tournament game on Wednesday.

Justin Champagnie, Jeff Capel and Pitt men’s basketball all made varying returns from different absences on Saturday afternoon and the end result was a blowout 96-76 victory over rival Syracuse.
In his last season with the Panthers,  junior guard Xavier Johnson (1) averaged 11.7 points, making 37.3% of his shots from the field.
