Pitt wrestling, gymnastics fall over the weekend

A cold and overcast weekend was capped off with disappointment from Pitt wrestling and gymnastics. Stellar individual performances were not enough to turn the tide on any front.
The Pitt Gymnastics team earned its first victory of the season Sunday afternoon by narrowly beating out NC State and Towson with a final score of 195.700.

Gymnastics, swimming and diving take home big wins

The weekend was a mixed bag for Pitt sports teams. The high-powered wrestling team continued to struggle in a tight loss against Virginia, even as the track and field team finished last at the Notre Dame invitational. Nevertheless, Pitt swimming and diving furthered its unprecedented success in a dual meet sweep, and the gymnastics team earned its first win of the season.
The Pitt women’s basketball team has already surpassed its conference win total from last season, starting off this season with three wins and three losses in ACC play. The team will play Louisville on Feb. 18.
