Today is the deadline to register to vote in the special election for Pittsburgh City Council. … Today is the deadline to register to vote in the special election for Pittsburgh City Council. ‘ ‘ ‘ People interested in registering to vote in the Feb. 3 election may apply in person at the Office of the Registration Commission, Room 609 of the County Office Building, 542 Forbes Ave., between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ‘ ‘ ‘ To vote, people must have lived in District 2, which includes Crafton Heights, Duquense Heights, Mount Washington and other areas, for at least the past 30 days. They must be 18 or older on Election Day and a U.S. citizen. ‘ ‘ ‘ Registered voters who moved or changed their names or party affiliations must also contact the Allegheny County Elections Division no later than today if they wish to vote in the election. ‘ ‘ ‘ Registration-by-mail forms, which can be used to register or to change names, address or party affiliation, are available at the Armed Service Recruitment Centers, Area Agencies on Aging and many branches of the U.S. Postal Service and state, county and municipal offices.
