Barack Obama a 10-point lead two weeks before the election. The Pitt News Focus Group sat down this week to discuss whether the current polls will accurately predict the outcome of the presidential election. ‘ What do students think? ‘Although I don’t necessarily agree with everything that Barack Obama stands for, I just think that he has been able to implement this movement in American people, a lot of American people … and I think that the fact that a lot of what John McCain has done can be related to George Bush, that he has that mistake, and [Obama] is going to come out on top.’ -Josh Vezza ‘Polling can be a rather ineffective tool … I know a lot of people that don’t know who they are voting for, and they’ve all told me that they won’t know until they go into the voting booth … We have failed to recognize that there are a lot of people that are still very confused about this election.’ -Carrie Weintraub
