With poignant and intelligent lyrics, The Jayhawks’ new album, Rainy Day Music, is a rustic and natural taste of acoustic alt-country. Tomorrow, The Jayhawks bring their down-home and relaxed sense of life to Rosebud.

On The Jayhawks’ seventh album, their first on their new label Lost Highway, the three-man band from Minneapolis take their faithful and new fans along with them on an acoustic journey.

Formed in 1985, The Jayhawks have struggled with lack of recognition and respect as well as the ever changing look of the band, changing members more than just a few times since their formation.

After their 2000 release of Smile, a more contemporary album, The Jayhawks have gone back to their roots and returned to the sounds that relate more closely to their beginnings.

The Jayhawks are a combination of bassist Marc Perlman, drummer/percussionist Tim O’Reagan, and singer/songwriter/guitarist Gary Louris – who is also the co-founder of the band.

This Saturday’s performance at Rosebud is set to be a relaxing and intimate evening filled with intelligent lyrics backed by a soothing acoustic sound.
