But some, including Pitt police Chief Timothy Delaney believe a similar system is already in place.

In January 2001, SGB unanimously passed a 10-point resolution to combat racial profiling on campus which included three primary actions to be taken by Pitt police that would affect Pitt students directly.

These primary actions are recording demographic information for all students who come in contact with Pitt police, printing Pitt police brochures with civil rights information and special business cards to be handed out by all Pitt police officers upon contact with students.
