A pack of Panther legends will grace Heinz Field with their presence on Saturday.

On his weekly radio show, head football coach Pat Narduzzi announced that former Pitt quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino will serve as the team’s honorary captain for the Panthers’ game against No. 5 Notre Dame.

Marino played at Pitt from 1979-1982, before emerging as a star for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. Pitt retired his jersey number 13 in 1982

Besides Marino, six other Pitt icons will attend the game, including former players Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, Jim Covert and Bill Fralic.  Two former Pitt head coaches, Johnny Majors and Jackie Sherrill, will also come back to cheer on Pitt.

Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for noon. ABC will air the game nationally.
