Kristan Hawkins, the president and founder of the anti-abortion group Students for Life of America, spoke to a group of fewer than 50 people at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in the O’Hara Ballroom. Outside, protestors gathered to speak out against Hawkins, who is touring around the United States with the speaking tour “No Abortion, No Exception.”

Students are likely to step into a CPC expecting a different experience. When someone finds out they are pregnant or suspect they might be pregnant, they deserve to be treated in an honest and earnest way, without a hidden agenda.

As news of the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion spreads across the country, the Pittsburgh community is one of many reacting to the possibility of Roe v. Wade being overturned.

I wish I could say that judicial elections shouldn’t be partisan. But they are, and as long as there are social justice issues on the table, it’s good to know who will fight for you.
