Pitt men’s cross country finishes in 10th place at ACC Championship; Panther women take 14th

Pitt wrapped up its fall cross country slate on Friday, competing in the ACC Championship meet in Cary, N.C. The men’s team finished in 10th place out of 15 teams, with 282 points, while the women took 14th with 406.
Senior Demetrius Thomas earned top seeding for the 2020 ACC Tournament alongside redshirt junior Gregg Harvey and redshirt sophomore Micky Phillippi.

Pitt wrestling earns trio of No. 1 seeds in ACC Tournament

When the ACC Wrestling Championships come to Pittsburgh this weekend, a trio of Pitt wrestlers will compete as No. 1 seeds on the floor of the Petersen Events Center.
The men’s swim and dive team made history at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, finishing with a program-best eighth place.

Pitt swimming and diving and track and field saw their regular seasons end this weekend and posted historic results. Softball, meanwhile, is just getting started with ACC play, but dropped two of three in their first conference series at North Carolina.

Walker, Phillips lead Pitt at ACC Indoor Championships

Noah Walker and Breanna Walker headlined Pitt track and field’s first day at the ACC Indoor Championships Thursday, taking second and fourth in their respective events.
With 104 team points, Pitt currently sits in eighth place out of 12 teams on the first day of the ACC Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This weekend holds high stakes for Pitt athletics, with the ACC Indoor Track Championships taking place Feb. 27 to 29 at Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and the ACC Men’s Swimming Championships taking place Feb. 26 to 29 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In a busy weekend for Pitt athletics, the baseball team stood out among the competition with three wins in four games at the Russmatt Central Florida Invitational.
At the championships this year, Valerie Daigneault will compete in three individual events, the 200-yard individual medley on the first day, either the 200-yard freestyle or the 100-yard backstroke on the second day and the 200-yard backstroke on the final day.
