It’s clear that the Grammys are not perfect, but one would expect to still see high-quality music selected by their esteemed “academy” of artists and critics. However, this year’s selection of nominees in the Big 4 Categories are downright nonsensical. 

Award shows are losing their purpose of awarding the best of the best by not honoring all nominees during the broadcast.

As the 2020 Oscars approach and the same types of controversies and complaints abound, it’s becoming clear that awards shows no longer have a place in our current society — at least the way they are today.
