Rosfeld wrongful termination lawsuit dismissed

U.S. District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan said there was no evidence to suggest Rosfeld's resignation was coerced under duress.

Rosfeld filed a civil complaint in January against the University, Pitt police Chief James Loftus and Kathy Humphrey, the senior vice chancellor for engagement, for allegedly violating his due process rights and the 14th Amendment in his Jan. 18, 2018 termination.

Lawsuit alleges Pitt responsible for dropped criminal charges

Daniel Humphrey, the son of Pitt Senior Vice Chancellor for Engagement Kathy Humphrey, was arrested by Pitt police in a December 2017 incident at Garage Door Saloon. The charges were dropped at the preliminary hearing, and now lawyers for the bar allege Humphrey and other Pitt affiliates were responsible.
