One word defined the 2022 Pitt baseball season — inconsistency. The Panthers finished the season with an overall record of 29-27 after a loss to NC State in last weekend's ACC Tournament semifinal ended their season.

Panthers rebound, sweep No. 20 Clemson in weather-shortened weekend series

Weather affected Pitt’s weekend series against Clemson, but the Panthers were still able to sweep the 20th-ranked team in the country. The sweep could be a turning point, as Pitt baseball recovers from losing six out of its last eight.

No. 19 Pitt baseball took two of three games over the weekend against the North Carolina Tar Heels in a series that saw a little bit of everything. From a rain-induced postponement, to a pitchers duel on Saturday and a slugfest on Sunday, there was no shortage of action in the pivotal ACC matchup.
Pitt baseball sweeped No. 20 Miami for its first home ACC series win of the season this weekend. After eight pitches, including four straight foul balls, sophomore infielder Sky Duff unloaded a grand slam to right-center field during the first game.

The series was moved back two days from its initial start date due to inclimate weather on Thursday. The Panthers’ two starting pitchers rung up Florida State batters that many times combined Friday and Saturday night, leading the team to consecutive wins by scores of 1-0 and 7-2, respectively, over Florida State (2-4, 0-3).
The upcoming conference schedule for Panthers baseball consists of 12 ACC opponents as opposed to the normal 10, and several ranked opponents.
