Pitt wrestlers wrap up NCAA Championships after Day 2

Over 18,000 fans flocked to Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena for Day 2 of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Friday.

The Pitt wrestling team saw two of its five wrestlers — No. 4 Micky Phillippi and No. 13 Nino Bonaccorsi — advance past the first two Thursday sessions of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship.

For the first time in more than 60 years, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are coming back to Pittsburgh. The NCAA awarded the city of Pittsburgh with the 2019 NCAA Championships on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the sport’s three-day championship event to PPG Paints Arena from March 21-23. ...
