Gallagher ‘strongly’ recommends, expects community to be vaccinated by fall, unveils new strategic plan

Chancellor Patrick Gallagher said at Pitt’s Friday board of trustees meeting that while the University community can look forward to a more engaging fall semester, a fully normal academic year is unlikely unless those coming back to campus are vaccinated.
Christopher Casamento, Pitt’s ex-emergency management director was indicted Wednesday afternoon. Casamento has been accused of stealing and selling 13,500 masks and other PPE from the University’s PPE supply for personal profit between Feb. 28 and March 22, 2020.

Pitt’s PPE stockroom expanded from a storage space in the Chevron Science Center to a second warehouse.
