Pitt (10-10 overall, 6-9 ACC) put the last week’s trials behind them and put forth one of its strongest efforts of the season, particularly on the defensive end, in a 70-57 win over Wake Forest (6-14 overall, 3-14 ACC). Capel reached deep into his bench and pulled out a complete team effort in the nearly wire-to-wire victory.

While players usually walk on the field with their families for the ceremonies, Pitt couldn’t carry on the tradition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Players came out by themselves this year, as their families provided video messages on the jumbotron.

Entering the 2019 regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, both the Eagles and Panthers had significant sources of motivation. For the Panthers, a win on senior night would keep their hope of a nine-win season alive and propel them into one of the ACC’s top-tier bowl games, while the Eagles desperately needed one last win to become bowl eligible.
