More than $300,000 in the student activities fee fund — which is financed through students’ tuition — will likely go unused this semester, as clubs continue online programming during the COVID-19 pandemic.

College students have been hit especially hard, as decreased hours and cancelled internships have made tuition and rent payments challenging.

As of Thursday, the Student Emergency Assistance Fund has granted a total of $254,326 to 457 students, out of more than 700 students who have applied for money.

The Student Emergency Assistance Fund allows undergraduate, graduate and professional students in need of emergency financial assistance to apply for a grant from the fund to cover such expenses.
