Women’s basketball, track and field pick up big wins during busy Pitt athletics weekend

Track and field picked up 10 wins at the Youngstown State Icebreaker on Friday, women’s basketball beat Ball State handily, and swimming and diving competed at the US Open during a busy weekend for Pitt athletics.

Weekend Sports Recap: Cross-country sets program record, volleyball wins big and more

Men’s cross-country placed fifth at Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Friday, the highest finish at that competition in Pitt history. Volleyball and wrestling also picked up wins in a busy weekend for Pitt athletics.
Pitt diving hosted Duquesne for its first meet of the season on Friday, and the women’s team swept the podium for the one meter board.

This weekend, Pitt continued its trend of standout individual performances trumping overall team results. Standout performances from junior Evan Addison and senior Greg Lauray of track and field and first-year Abby Grottle of swimming and diving highlighted the weekend.
