Against UCF on Saturday, head coach Pat Narduzzi and offensive coordinator Mark Whipple avenged last week’s heartbreaking loss by dialing up a bold play when Pitt needed it most.when Pitt needed it most.
Pitt Basketball is already week of last year’s team in terms of wins. The Panthers won their fourth game, a 97-71 win over the University of Central Arkansas, on Nov., 15. Last year, the Panthers didn’t win their fourth game until Dec. 1.
Pitt made history in its final home game of the season, racking up the most offensive yards, the longest play and the first time going undefeated in the ACC at home in program history.
The sloppy field conditions were perfectly suited for the Panthers, who pounded the ball on the ground and stifled Virginia’s offense en route to a 23-13 victory.
Now halfway through the season, it’s becoming clearer what we can expect to see from Pitt on a weekly basis. Here’s what Saturday revealed about the team:
The senior running back tandem of Qadree Ollison and Darrin Hall carried Pitt to an overtime victory, rushing for a combined 299 yards and three touchdowns.
