Women’s soccer falls 3-2 on West’s record-breaking night

Wake Forest halted Pitt’s hot streak with a double overtime heartbreaker, but it wasn’t a total loss for the Panthers as Amanda West etched her name atop the program’s single-season points list.
Pitt volleyball continued its win streak this weekend, sweeping both UNC and NC State.

Pitt athletics did its best to combat autumn’s shrinking days and growing nights by stacking win upon win over the weekend and lighting the top of the Cathedral. In what may be one of the best weekends in recent Pitt sports history, there were upsets, new milestones and continued dominance, all worthy of Cathy’s weekly light show.
Head coach Jay Vidovich came to Pitt in 2015 after an illustrious career at Wake Forest where he served as an assistant coach from 1986-93 and then as head coach from 1994-2014.

Panthers soccer slowly catching up to ACC competition

While Pitt fans have primarily been fixated on football and volleyball teams this fall, the men’s and women’s soccer programs have also begun to make noise in the ACC.
Pitt swept all four diving events on Saturday at a quad meet against Duquesne, Villanova and Youngstown State at home.

Weekend Sports Recap: Potent Panthers volleyball rolls through California tournament

It was a tale of two sports this weekend in Pitt athletics: Volleyball continued its undefeated 2019 with three wins this past weekend in California, but rebuilding soccer programs were unable to find the same success.
