Pitt volleyball dominated the weekend and opened ACC play with a resounding 3-0 sweep of Virginia Tech, both soccer teams fought to draws in conference games and Pitt swimming and diving opened its season winning 11 of 12 races in a relay-only meet.

It was a tale of two sports this weekend in Pitt athletics: Volleyball continued its undefeated 2019 with three wins this past weekend in California, but rebuilding soccer programs were unable to find the same success.
