Pitt announced on Tuesday that redshirt junior Durand Johnson would not be a member of the men’s basketball program moving forward.

“We wish Durand only the best in his future pursuits and will try to assist him any way we can as he moves forward,” head coach Jamie Dixon said in a release.

Johnson sat out the entire 2014-2015 season with a suspension, and he has one more year of college eligibility remaining.

He averaged 8.8 points and three rebounds per game in 16 games in his redshirt sophomore season before tearing his ACL on Jan. 12, 2014 and missing the rest of the season.
