Posvar Hall was evacuated, but David Lawrence Hall was not.

Firefighters entered Posvar at 11:15 and left shortly before 11:30 a.m. Police said that the alarm was caused by a leaking gasoline canister in the building’s garage.

While fire fighters were in the building, people standing on the Forbes Avenue side of the building could smell gasoline by the vents.

Just after 11:30 a.m., emergency responders left the area, and students went back into the building.
