Shooting victim not a Pitt student

The man who received gunshot wounds to the leg near the intersection of Forbes Avenue and S…. The man who received gunshot wounds to the leg near the intersection of Forbes Avenue and S. Bouquet Street was not a Pitt student, according to Pitt spokesman John Fedele.

Police confirmed Sunday that the shooting occurred around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, but officers working Sunday and Monday could not provide further information about the condition of the victim or specifics about the shooting.

Fedele said Pitt police did not issue a crime alert because a “person of interest” was immediately identified in relation to the shooting.

Pittsburgh police are handling the investigation but were unable to provide further information by press time yesterday. Public relations officers were not available for comment.
