To the Editor, ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ If anyone at the University needed convincing that The Pitt News… To the Editor, ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ If anyone at the University needed convincing that The Pitt News is a trashy publication, last Friday’s’ ‘Sex Issue’ put that issue to bed ‘mdash; pun intended. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ Last Friday’s edition, which for the record contained no news from the day before, read more like a Playboy than a newspaper. If I wanted the latest on the strip club scene, tips about the trendiest condoms or a porno review, I would have first looked in a seedy corner store. Now, I know to reach for a copy of The Pitt News. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ When a porn star’s biography takes precedence over campus news, the disconnect between the publication and its purpose as a newspaper is complete and indisputable. Tell me, how many people showed up for the job fair on Thursday? How about Richard Sobol’s ‘Jews in Uganda’ presentation?
