Livin’ like refugees

A collection of tents, blankets and… There is a refugee camp at Carnegie Mellon University.

A collection of tents, blankets and one plywood shack has sprung up in front of the famous CMU fence. But the inhabitants are not fleeing their homelands or seeking cheaper on-campus housing. The camp is an effort by the Pittsburgh Anti-War coalition to collect blankets for the refugees in Afghanistan.

Mark Egerman is a CMU sophomore active in the Pittsburgh Anti-War Coalition. Egerman plans to spend four days (not counting the time he spent on the lawn in preparation) in the makeshift camp, until he takes it down on Wednesday.
