The Assembly, Pitt and UPMC’s new health research center that focuses on cancer biology and immunology research, received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council last Wednesday — marking it as a leader in sustainability.

Pitt’s dental assistant program addresses healthcare professional shortage

The School of Dental Medicine received funding to train dental assistants through a 14-month paid apprenticeship program. Six dental assistant students, who have yet to be selected, will start in January.

The PLRB certified the Pitt faculty union’s landslide election victory one year ago as of Friday. Since then, faculty have changed from advisors in a shared governance system to legal equals in slow and, at times, publicly bitter contract talks with administration.
