Med school dean agrees to wide-ranging demands from Black students

The dean of Pitt’s School of Medicine agreed on Thursday to comply with numerous wide-ranging demands from Black students, after multiple meetings and more than 400 petition signatures.
The Chancellor’s Healthcare Advisory Group is chaired by Anantha Shekhar, the senior vice chancellor for health sciences and dean of Pitt’s School of Medicine.

The board of trustees’ compensation committee voted unanimously Tuesday to set a seven-figure compensation package for Anantha Shekhar, the incoming senior vice chancellor for the health sciences.
