For some, chess is purely a form of entertainment. But for Ashley Priore, a junior English literature and political science double major, chess has a deeper meaning — one that she is determined to help others see.

The political future is uncertain for city government candidates and Pitt undergraduates Ashley Priore, who was running in the Democratic primary for the Pittsburgh School Board in the 4th District, and Chris Kumanchik, who was running for the 3rd District seat in the Pittsburgh City Council.

Ashley Priore, a first-year student studying business and English, is running for a seat on the Pittsburgh Public School Board. Priore hopes to be a voice that connects the students with the board.
