Laurence Glasco was offered a job at Pitt in 1969, for what he thought would only be a few years.
A panel met in the evening on Feb. 24 to discuss how the University has and should continue to improve the Black Pitt experience. Clyde Wilson Pickett, the vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, introduced the annual Black History Month event, hosted in honor of Pitt’s very own K. Leroy Irvis.

Pitt’s Bradford campus, the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Center on Race and Social Problems and the Black Action Society sponsored a panel Thursday afternoon called “The Black Impact: Black Faculty and Administrators’ Influence on Black Student Success.” Fellow members of the Black Pitt community, including faculty, students and administrators attended.
