Women’s basketball skid hits seven on senior day

Pitt women’s basketball fell behind early in the second quarter and never recovered, en route to a 79-47 defeat on Sunday afternoon at the hands of No. 5 Louisville.
First-year guard Dayshanette Harris scored a career-high 27 points while shooting 9-26 from the floor, 3-8 from 3-point range and a perfect 6-6 from the foul line against Boston College.

Pitt women’s basketball traveled to Syracuse, New York, on Sunday, hoping to exact revenge on a team that had already beaten Pitt earlier in the season. The Panthers were unable to do so, ultimately falling 71-53 at the Carrier Dome, but not before achieving a program milestone.

Though the Panthers lost 73-56, the bigger story was that they outplayed the Blue Devils for half the game, largely thanks to a breakout performance from first-year forward Rita Igbokwe.

Pitt women’s basketball entered Sunday’s game against rival Notre Dame hoping to get revenge for its close, early-January loss to the Irish. Despite a strong start, Pitt’s shooting struggles and a key injury handicapped the team on its way to another big defeat, 74-52 in South Bend, Indiana.
