Chabad at Pitt hosted its annual “BBQ and chill” event in Schenley Plaza on Monday evening. The goal for the event was to “create community for Jewish students” and to celebrate Jewish identity after the assault on Friday evening.

Over 100 students rallied in Schenley Plaza to show their support for Israel following recent attacks by militant group Hamas just outside of Gaza. Later in the evening, another group of students also rallied in response to show their support of Palestine.

In part due to the lack of official days off, students observe Passover, Ramadan and Easter within their religious communities at Pitt.
