Pitt diving hosted Duquesne for its first meet of the season on Friday, and the women’s team swept the podium for the one meter board.

Pitt track and field father-son coaching duo look to build upon award-winning season

Fast forward to 2021 and Webb III, better known as “Coach Zo,” has led the jumps and multis teams for a decade as an assistant coach. The 2020-21 season was unquestionably his most successful year to date.
First-year midfielder Emily Yaple (10) led the Panthers with five shots, scoring on none during Pitts 1-0 loss to Wake Forest on Sunday. With the loss to Demon Deacons, the Panthers will miss the 2020 ACC Womens Soccer Tournament and end their season with a 9-5-0 record.

Pitt men’s cross country finishes in 10th place at ACC Championship; Panther women take 14th

Pitt wrapped up its fall cross country slate on Friday, competing in the ACC Championship meet in Cary, N.C. The men’s team finished in 10th place out of 15 teams, with 282 points, while the women took 14th with 406.
Pitt’s cross country team got an early start to training on campus this season due to schedule adjustments relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Panthers soccer open seasons in dominant fashion

In addition to Pitt football’s headline-grabbing win over conference rival Syracuse on Saturday, other Panthers teams boasted a dominant weekend. Men’s soccer routed Louisville on Saturday in its final home exhibition game before beginning the regular season, while women’s soccer traveled to Navy and picked up its fourth consecutive win.
Panthers volleyball will start its season late with its first match on Sept. 25 in Syracuse, New York, against the Orange.

Pitt placed in geographic pods for remainder of fall sports

ACC announces delay for some fall sports

The Atlantic Coast Conference Board of Directors announced Thursday afternoon that the beginning of fall Olympic sports will be delayed until Sept. 1. Pitt’s men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and cross country are among the affected sports. ACC field hockey programs will also be subject to the delay, but will not apply to Pitt, which does not have a program.
