Black Lodge to host Oakland Indie Fest in support of those in East Palestine

Adam Klenovich and Rory Monaghan, co-founders of the Black Lodge in South Oakland, are hosting the first-ever Oakland Indie Festival on Saturday, April 29 at Flagstaff Hill in Schenley Park from 12 to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit the East Palestine community.

Pitt’s Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies held a festival Sunday in the Cathedral of Learning, which featured vendors, educators and advocates with roots from nearly every country in eastern Europe.

Screenshot Asia film festival showcases Asian stories on screen

Screenshot Asia is a project led by Pitt’s Asian Studies Center and Film and Media Studies program that highlights Asian culture through cinema. The festival, which takes place from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, offers Pitt students free tickets to screenings of a collection of Asian films.
