The University Senate’s Budget Policies Committee held its first meeting of the academic year via Zoom on Friday, where members discussed the University’s 2021-22 budget and a subcommittee report on Pitt’s partnership with Outlier.

Pitt works to make room for largest ever first-year class

With a first-year class of 5,195 students, Pitt struggled to accommodate the large number of students. Departments hired new staff and added new class sections, and the University leased a hotel for housing.
