The apartment building set to be a LGBTQ+ friendly affordable housing community in Oakland is the first of its kind in Western Pennsylvania. The creation of LGBTQ+ affordable housing seeks to address housing disparities and discrimination faced by elders in the community.
The Oakland Planning and Development Corp. held a meeting Tuesday evening to discuss plans for the new UPMC Presbyterian building and a 20-unit apartment complex.

OPDC discusses plans for new Oakland hospital facility, apartment complex

The Oakland Planning and Development Corp. held its monthly Oakland-wide community meeting Tuesday evening to discuss updated plans for the new UPMC Presbyterian building and a plan to turn a Ward Street building into a 20-unit apartment complex.
Bigelow Boulevard reopened on Dec. 24, marking the completion of the almost $24-million project that began in November 2019.
