Since its rollout in November 2022, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has sparked widespread discussions about its potential impact on education and learning. Recognizing its growing use in academic settings, Pitt IT responded by developing PittGPT, a version tailored specifically for the University of Pittsburgh community.

SGB hosts Pitt IT, discusses student safety

Pitt’s Student Government Board hosted representatives from Pitt IT for a Q&A session at Tuesday night’s public meeting. Mark Henderson, chief information officer, said Pitt IT is constantly looking for ways to engage with students.
At SGB Tuesday night, President Eric Macadangdang remembered Pitt’s “Stronger than Hate” vigil on the Cathedral lawn in response to the Tree of Life massacre.

Student Government Board held a moment of silence for the Tree of Life massacre at its Tuesday night meeting, acknowledging the victims who lost their lives at the nearby synagogue two years ago.
The University announced Tuesday that it is looking for student input regarding an upcoming redesign of the student portal, My Pitt, and will be hosting in-person sessions as well as webinars.
