Pitt’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid announced Wednesday afternoon that it extended its ACT and SAT test-optional policy through fall 2023 for first-year applicants in all programs, majors, schools and colleges.

Pitt’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid announced Wednesday afternoon that it extended its ACT and SAT test-optional policy through fall 2023 for first-year applicants in all programs, majors, schools and colleges.
Pitt’s Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences announced in July that it too would become test-optional, joining the University’s branch campuses.

Pitt’s Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences announced in July that it too would become test-optional, joining the University’s branch campuses. The College of Business Administration, Swanson School of Engineering and School of Computing and Information have followed suit.
Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the Department of Education is waiving annual standardized test requirements.

Editorial: All universities should suspend SAT, ACT admission requirements

Because access to these tests is now limited and they statistically don’t represent intelligence or ability fairly, all universities in the United States should follow UC’s lead and suspend entrance test requirements.
