Access to voting needs to expand as long lines, difficulties with mail-in ballots and voter registration create problems for people who deserve to vote.

The Supreme Court decided last week to allow a voter ID law in North Dakota that could prohibit a sizable number of Native Americans from registering to vote — a breach in democracy that should not be allowed.
