Pitt announces Toney to transfer, second key departure in two days

Pitt men’s basketball junior guard Xavier Johnson confirmed a report from Craig Meyer of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Wednesday morning that Johnson will immediately leave the Pitt program and enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Pitt men’s basketball got back in the win column on Monday night thanks to a second-half surge from Xavier Johnson and Jeff Capel’s love of ’80s movies.
Last year, Xavier Johnson established himself as one of the premier point guards in the ACC by averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 assists per game, and was the only player in the ACC to reach both of those benchmarks.
