Senate Council discusses vaccine mandate, approves two policies

Pitt’s Senate Council held its last monthly meeting of the semester on Thursday afternoon both in person at Posvar Hall and on Zoom. Besides Pitt’s vaccine mandate, the council discussed and voted on two draft policies during the meeting.

The Campus Well-Being Consortium recently launched Thrive @ Pitt to connect students to well-being resources. According to Danielle Floyd, the tool was inspired by the “disconnect” between students and resources to support their well-being.

Pitt adds 100 new COVID-19 cases since Dec. 1

Pitt officials said Thursday that 69 students and 31 employees tested positive for COVID-19 from Dec. 1 to Dec. 7. The number of new student cases per day are, on average, the highest of the semester, which officials said is of “some concern.”

Students prepare for hybrid finals as semester nears end

Pitt students prepared this time last year to take finals at home and behind a screen. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the Pitt community to acclimate to online learning. With the semester ending soon, students are studying at home, alone and in campus buildings.
