Ruth Bader Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993 and served until her death on Sept. 18. The second woman ever to be appointed to the Supreme Court, she became known for advocating for gender equality.
“COVID-19: The Pittsburgh Latinx Community Experience & Response” was a part of the University’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration Month, which is from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

Pitt adds 14 COVID-19 cases since Monday

Pitt added 14 new COVID-19 cases, composed of entirely students, between Monday and Thursday, continuing a recent trend of case reports in the low double-digits.
Many COVID-19 and flu symptoms are indistinguishable, making it especially important to get a flu shot this year.

Pitt offers free flu shots for students amid COVID-19 pandemic

Vanek said Pitt is hosting four free flu shot clinics under a tent at the COVID-19 testing site outside Posvar Hall. While the first clinic was completed on Tuesday, the three remaining clinics will be held on Sept. 29, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Black Action Society provides updates to SGB on student demands

SGB received its first update from Ottley at the board’s Tuesday night meeting regarding the University's response to demands created by Pitt’s Black Senate. Ottley said the demands ask Pitt to examine its “racist foundations” and stand in solidarity with Black students. Board members also gave updates on some other key initiatives currently in the works.
Student Government Board will raffle off 25 $100 gift cards to the campus bookstore for people living off campus who respond to the Census by the Sept. 30 deadline.

The Student Government Board is offering $2,500 in gift cards to the University Store on Fifth for students who complete the U.S. census by the new Sept. 30th self-reporting deadline.
In addition to the modern Hippocratic oath, the current first-year class of Pitt’s School of Medicine took a nontraditional oath on Aug. 14 addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, racial injustice and health care inequities.
