The Hub is a focal point on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus and implores students and faculty to get their vaccinations to help contain sicknesses this winter.
On September 9th 2024, Heather Lyke was fired as Athletic Director of the University of Pittsburgh, only a few months before her contract with the University was set to expire. The specific reason for her firing remains unclear.
At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation, assisted by the Pitt Police, received a report of a “hate crime/assault” that occurred in the area of Semple and Ward St at 2 a.m.

Anna Li, a doctoral student at Pitt, won the Hult Prize in September. The $1 million in prize money was awarded to Li’s company Korion Health, which makes medical devices for patients to use at home.
