With record numbers of students enrolling at Pitt, the University has had to get innovative when it comes to housing. The Strand, a 20-unit apartment-style complex on Forbes Avenue, is now available to upper-class students.
Following the incident on Friday evening where a group of Jewish students at Pitt were attacked on their way to a Chabad dinner, community organizations, local politicians, and the University administration have issued statements expressing their support for the Jewish community at Pitt.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, the University confirmed that a group of Jewish students “were attacked by an individual wielding a bottle” near the Cathedral of Learning at around 6 p.m. Friday evening. The statement clarified that two of the students were treated for injuries at the scene and that the alleged perpetrator, who has “no known Pitt affiliation,” is in Pitt Police’s custody.
