Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto signed three controversial gun control bills into law Tuesday afternoon, including one that prohibits the usage of certain assault weapons within the City. Several Pittsburgh residents immediately filed a lawsuit against Peduto and the City Council, arguing a state law preempts the new City law.
Three gun control bills co-sponsored by councilmembers Corey O’Connor and Erika Strassburger and preliminarily approved by the Council in a 6-3 vote last Wednesday.
