With June 1 marking the first day of Pride Month, thousands gathered in downtown Pittsburgh for the annual parade. The parade kicked off a month full of events honoring Pride Month, with people from across Pittsburgh and beyond coming to celebrate.

Sorority changes bylaws to welcome non-binary, transgender students

Pitt’s chapter of Phi Sigma Rho, a social engineering and STEM sorority, recently updated its bylaws to be more welcoming to non-binary and transgender students through inclusive language and pronoun use as well as anti-discrimination clauses.

After a tumultuous election season and a year of online classes, Pitt’s Student Government Board has big plans for the 2021-22 academic year. The Pitt News spoke with the board to learn about their top priorities and plans to improve campus life this fall.
The LGBTQIA+ task force has been drafting and finalizing a report to present to Pitt’s senior administration over the past two semesters, in an effort to begin implementing the task force’s requests. While the report is nearly finished, the task force is turning to the Pitt community for support.
