In-state tuition discount still in limbo after month-long impasse

For more than 50 years, Pitt has received substantial amounts of money to provide its in-state students with a discounted tuition cost. But this year, appropriations have been significantly delayed, potentially impacting tens of thousands of students.
Pitt adjunct professor Aaron Bernstine has served as representative for the state House 10th District for the past two terms and most recently served on the House Commerce, Insurance, Health and Game and Fisheries committees.

Pitt adjunct professor Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) will keep his state House seat, despite his party calling for his resignation after a video of Bernstine encouraging his son to act inappropriately was released a few weeks ago.
Following Gov. Tom Wolf’s February proposed budget, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a bill with flat funding for Pitt late Tuesday night.

House passes Pitt flat funding bill by 198-4 vote
