It’s hard to be at Pitt — whether as a prospective student or head coach of the women’s basketball team — and not cross paths with De’Jovia Davis, a senior urban studies major known to friends as Jovi.
Victoria Bistarkey, a former alto saxophone section leader who graduated last May, was responsible for maintaining a positive environment during her section’s Zoom rehearsals last year. She is now pursuing a master’s degree in social work at Pitt.

Pitt band prepares to celebrate alumni in homecoming performance

Pitt band members spent most of last year practicing marching drills in their dorm rooms over Zoom. Although unable to practice in person during their senior year, last year’s graduates can apply their skills on the field one last time this weekend.
The Pitt band currently uses the Sports Dome and Cost Center for most of its practice, but the new Victory Heights facility will give them a larger and more updated space.
